The Clon Minotaur Transparent Overdrive is a virtual guitar overdrive pedal inspired by The Klon Centaur, an iconic pedal developed between 1990 and 1994. Positioned as a "transparent" overdrive, it aims to enrich the signal with gain while preserving the natural tone of the guitar.

With its control knobs adjusted, the Clon Minotaur can function as a clean boost, primarily amplifying volume with subtle tonal enhancements. This feature proves beneficial in fueling the input valve stage of a virtual amplifier to replicate the distinctive distorted timbre of an overdriven guitar amp.

Users have the option to modulate the sound signal within the plugin, leveraging two modeled germanium diodes for waveform clipping effects. The gain parameter serves to manage the equilibrium between the diode clipping stage and the unaltered signal, harmonizing both streams before they engage with the treble and volume controls.
